Jazipoo asked:

I just began a new job making 30,000/ year. How much I will make on a biweekly check. I’m single w/o kids. I would like to have more in my paycheck rather than get a big refund at the end of the year. I live in Maryland,

Amazing that a person gets a job and has no Idea how much they get paid… Claim 0 on the W-4 for exemptions

    $30,000 divided by 52 weeks in the year $600 a week…

  • helping hand:

Well that would be a gross income of about $1180 every two weeks. Normally you would take off 30% for taxes but if you declare a lot of dependents you can get that to about 25% so I would guesstimate a take home of $885

  • PepsiLime:

Bi-weekly means that you’ll get paid every two weeks. 26 bi-weekly paychecks per year. Take $30,000 and divide that by 26 =$1,153.85 per paycheck, but that will be gross paycheck, not net. To figure out your net pay as far as taxes should go, check out this website,, it is a very good paycheck calculator. Also, just to let you know that with 2 kids, you should be filing as head of household, and will quite possibly get Earned Income Credit for having the two kids. Also, if your childrens ages are under 17 you should also be getting $2,000 for child tax credit ($1,000 per child for child under age 17).

Claim single/1 allowance on your W-4 to get more in youir paycheck rather than just getting it refunded at the end of the year.
