  • Mac Momma:

it is a persons right to choose what happens to them if they can’t express their views because they are incapacitated.

a person should be able to choose what they consider to be an unaceptable quality of life.

  • phluphy:

A living will allows a person to still have control over the rest of their life. It provides dignity.

  • spookypumba:

The humanity from my point of view, both in having a living will myself and at one point working in a hospital is saving family, friends and loved ones from having to make choices that could haunt them for the rest of their lives. Having your wishes spelled out, takes that responsibility off their shoulders. There are no family splits, no guilt associated in carrying out your wishes. It allows them to grieve without guilt. That in my opinion is very humane.

it is a legal document, not a philosophical tome. if you object to the idea, don’t have one.
