I am a young woman wanting to join the air force and I had some concerns about getting through basic training, possible deployment, w/o any supportive friends and family. It seems like all of the stories I have read about the people have a great, close, family that they can count on when times get tough. I don’t have that. any advice?

My wife is in the Navy stationed as a student in Florida, but I currently go to school and am a resident in California. Will the Basic Housing Allowance(BAH) be based on where I live (California) or where she is currently stationed (Florida)?

Will be in August when the law takes effect, or October (as I was told by someone who works at my school)?
@ PDizzle – Part of the amendment is that online students receive $673.50 for FT and about $538.80 for quarter time (the quarter time is how it is at my school, Ashford University). Now online students do not have to take at least on class at a physical campus to get the living stipend.

I got vague details about this. I know the GI Bill pays for schooling, and I also signed up for additional education payment bonuses when I signed. I really just want to do my 4 years, serve my country and get the experience. Then, use it to pay for the rest of my school.

I’ll be single when I get out (unless I meet someone), so will I need to work a little part-time job as well as school to pay for living expenses/apartment/etc? Just curious.

Unlike Vietnam will our children, and in my case my children’s children be forced to live with the mistake the U.S. led by GWB has made with this war based entirely on poor or falsified intelligence. Vietnam was a failure that ended in a state based on capitalism backed by communism, what will Iraq become when their own have no real interest in democracy?

ME asked:
I want a living will just in case something should happen to me so my husband and/or daughter know what my wishes are in regards to life support, etc. I also want to name guardians for my daughter in the event that my husband and I are no longer here. Do I talk to an attorney? Does the military do this free for military and their spouses? Any help specific to Army and Fort Bragg would be great.
