Our daughter is 17 and will be a H.S. senior this year. Her 2 year college is about 46 thousand. Just notified that she is the beneficiary of 49 thousand lump sum annuity. She will be 18 in Feb. We never dreamed this could happen and want to do what is best, we don’t anticipate ever being in a position to leave her any money and would like to do whatever is best with this money. Do we just tell the college or do we still fill out the financial aide forms. There will still be cost of living, apartment, food etc. Please help!

My parents moved to another state about a year ago. And I’ve been living with my grandparents since then. I will be starting college soon and I want to know if I will have to pay out of state tuition even though I’m going to college IN STATE. How will applying for financial aid work out also? Seeing that their tax forms will show they live out of state?

This information was provided as a part of the academics section of the Common Application. When the financial aid process is underway will I have to provide income info for both of parents even if I only live with one of them? Thanks!

When I fill out the FAFSA form it still asks for my parents income and everything, so does that mean even though I am not living with them, and I am over 24 that I will still be considered on their income, or am I considered financially independent and I will be able to receive financial aid. Please help

If I’m living on college campus, will they provide me with food. How much money will I need 4 other extra things? Will I need a job? How will I get this money that I need for my essentials, because Im sure my financial aid and student loan probably won’t cover it all.

I will be starting grad school soon and will be moving to a new state (from florida to maryland). Will federal loans give me a little extra at first until I find a job or am I on my own?

Thanks for any help
