My son’s father is not in the picture and my mom had heard that if I didn’t have a will or living will (not sure which) and something happened to me, my son would automatically go to his father. Can someone tell me which one I need and how to go about it? (Do I have to go thru an attorney?)

what is the document called a Living Will that hospitals ask seriously ill patients if they want to sign? DOES IT CONCERN USE OF LIFE SUPPORT? i think itis a legal document concerning wether to resuscitate or not if patient becomes unconscious is this correct?
